FOR THE LOVE OF DOG
About Bark & Sol
To keep it short and sweet, I love dogs. I'm that strange one that will stop and wave at a dog while passing by. What I find fascinating about dogs is how quickly they learn and how truly intelligent they can be. They love hard, and play hard, and they don't sweat the small stuff. That's something I try to live by.
Some good things come from great loses. Good lessons come from hard times. My losses sent me on a deep dive on vaccines and parasites, but they also made me realize how deep my love for dogs truly is. I knew I wanted to work with dogs, but I just didn't know how.
At that time I had been living in Las Vegas for awhile I eventually landed a job as a Diabetic alert dog trainer, and became a Certified dog Trainer. This White Labrador was my first dog that I had professionally trained. I loved taking them everywhere, teaching them, and watching them grow. Not long after that we moved back to the Bay.
When we came back, I wanted a career change, I started with photography, but I knew it wouldn't be enough for awhile. I started babysitting my baby nephew as I continued working as a Hair Stylist. He brought back the old joys I had raising my own children. I felt good about teaching him, having fun, being active & outside with him. It was a similar feeling I had when I was dog training, and I knew the desire to work with dogs again was still there so the wheels began to turn.
However, I still absolutely dreaded leaving my dog at home, and not always being able to give the attention and exercise he needed. After speaking with fellow dog owners I found that they equally shared my pain. That told me there was a need. I thought about creating a structured day out for dogs. A service that could provide something beneficial to the dogs and their owners.
I knew it wouldn't be anything glamorous, but all I could think about is how much fun it would be for me to be active, outdoors, helping dogs thrive. And being able to provide a great service for the ultimate busy dog lovers in the South Bay. So here we are now... please be patient as we work out the kinks to this exciting journey, Bark & Sol welcomes you and your dog to the pack!
